COURSE INFORMATION:
Lessons of Estonian language for beginners A1 are held twice a week and within these the student receives basic foreign language skills in a group. This course is designed for people who want to learn Estonian from scratch.
Training takes place in the format of blended learning, i.e., homework and the repetition of the material takes place on a convenient online Tarkus platform at any time and in any place convenient for you. The online platform developed by us is an excellent addition to the course, where you can master the material you have learned in a fun and productive way and be constantly involved in the process of learning the language. The curriculum of the basic course covers various topics and pays attention to all aspects of the language, such as reading, writing, grammar, listening, and speaking. During classes, both group and pair tasks are conducted in a playful way, aimed at developing practical use of the language from the very first lesson.

Learning Content:
During class special attention is paid to basic grammar, vocabulary and communication practice. Topics: introduction; greetings, goodbyes and polite words; days of the week; numerals; languages, nationalities and vocabulary of everyday life; acquaintance; weather, seasons, months and date; my day; adjectives and colors; family and home; travel, road management and furniture; food and beverages; work and profession, hobby, shopping, health, appearance, personal opinion.
The grammar during the course considers: the basics of pronunciation, interrogative words, the system of declension in the singular, alternating consonants, pronouns, numerals and ordinal numerals, verb conjugations in present and past tense, ma and da infinitive; postpositions; addition; unions and interjections; when?; types of words.
For the development of writing skills the following tasks are completed: filling in the text with gaps; spelling the heard; combining words into a sentence, questionnaire; picture description; drafting questions and answers; small sections on the topics studied, postcard, letter, etc.

You will learn:
- to understand sentences and frequently used words that are directly related to key areas of life (for example, information about yourself and family, shopping, work).
- to understand short and simple statements of everyday content, simple conversations, messages and content of texts within the framework of the topics studied.
- to find specific, predictable information in simple everyday material and understand short simple letters of a personal nature.
- to participate in everyday communication.
- to speak and exchange phrases to describe your family, other people, living conditions, your opinion, your place of work.
- to write a simple personal letter or fill in a form.
At the end of the course (at least 90% of the classes attended), the Tarkus language school gives the student a certificate of completion of the training course.
